Meet Chef Kristiann Vargas Perez - the mastermind behind Distinctive Ideas!
Having taken her chance amidst the challenges of the Covid era with the support of her husband, Roberto, kids (Aricella, Armando & Joshua) to cheer her on, Chef Kristiann fearlessly forged her own path in the culinary world by founding Distinctive Ideas. This concept was a pop-up catering company that seamlessly melded her passion for the culinary world with her innate love for design, allowing for all the senses to be engaged throughout dinner.
Affectionately known as the "Bougie Chef," Chef Kristiann has carved a niche for herself in the heart of Connecticut, where her culinary prowess and creative flair have been showcased in a series of unforgettable intimate events. With an impressive repertoire of skills and a commitment to excellence, Distinctive Ideas has crafted numerous dining experiences that seamlessly blend cherished family recipes with her own eclectic culinary adventures.
At the beginning of 2024 Chef Kristiann and Auerfarm in Bloomfield, CT join in a collaboration to bring Distinctive Ideas to the farm as the Resident Chef.

In Fall of 2025 we were honored to become Connecticut Restaurant Association 2025 Crazies Best Caterer of the Year Finalist.
We have joined the Board of Directors for Empowered Foundation, Inc. - a nonprofit committed to strengthening families by equipping parents and caregivers with support, knowledge, and tools they need to nurture their children’s development and well-being specializing in serving families through all phases of development, with a focus on neurodivergent individuals.
